Sarah McRuvie

I am a Scottish sound designer living in London, with an MSc in Sound and Music for Film and Games from the University of Hertfordshire (Distinction). I am a hardworking and talented individual who creates high-quality audio assets to enhance game narrative, player experience and immersion. I am currently working freelance and developing my skills by practicing redesigns and learning middleware. My goal is to work in house as a Junior Sound Designer at a AAA studio that has a good culture and supports women and underrepresented groups in games.

I love fantasy and sci fi and grew up reading The Hobbit and watching Star Wars with my dad (nerd alert!). My first game addiction was Pokemon Blue and I remember very clearly crying when a boy stole my Raichu card in primary school (what a meanie!). These days when I’m not doing game audio or playing games, I love practicing yoga as it turns me into a very zen human. I also love playing irl card games such as Netrunner (https://netrunnerdb.com/) and you should play it because it’s awesome.
